    Summary: Tough shears
    Comment:
I am a professional roofer. I bought these shears for working with 24g sheet steel. The shears cut through this steel readily. As a matter of fact, they will cut through a double layer of 24g. With a little effort you can cut the top 1/8" off a double locked standing seam. If you do any steel roofing, this is a great tool to have in your bag. Hooked up to a cordless drill, they will do a decent job of the long cuts one has to do now and then, like ripping down panels at the rake edges. Since the jaws a pretty small, the lift on the waste side of the cut is also fairly small. This means that a panel that has a turned up edge (like a standing seam roof panel) can be cut fairly close to the bend, something a pair of hand shears cannot negotiate easily. The waste side will be a bit wavey, but the good side will be fairly clean. When I make this type of cut I rough it in with the turbo shear (to about a half inch off the line)and then recut with good hand shears. This might seem like extra work, but if you ever had to rip a 20 foot 16" standing seam panel down to 14" you know what an effort hand shears present.

I have used this tool for 6 months and I am impressed with what it will do. Double cuts are a form of abuse, but so far the tool still does its job. It is not a dream tool, but for about $75 it's well worth having in your bag.

Summary: Great tool for the right job
    Comment:
I bought this tool for my husband for Father's Day. It does not do detail work well. Also, the cut edges were jagged (on both pieces). I gave 5 stars because although it was not the right tool for the job for him, it's still a great tool as long as you have the right application in mind, knowing that the edge will not be smooth and that it's best for large-scale work. He is super handy, so I don't think it was an issue of operator error.

The turboshear worked great I would recommend it to anyone wo needs to work with sheet metal.I just redone my workshop with new metal roof and siding. The turboshear cut all the 28 ga. sheet metal with ease. I have both a 12v Dewalt and a 18v milwaukee drill and it fit and worked equally well on each one.

Summary: Worked very well on my metal roof install.
    Comment:
After patching the roof over my back bedroom and kitchen annually, I decided to replace the tar paper material with a metal roof. Being a novice at metal roofs and remembering the pain caused by tin snips, I wanted something better. After researching tools to make cutting the metal easier, I settled on the Malco TSHD Turboshear Heavy-Duty nibblers. They exceeded my expectations. I didn't have to use conventional tin snips at all because of the versatility of the tool.

My father in-law is a handyman and helped me with the roof. He has all sorts of tools for pretty much everything. He started to grab his metal cutting tools when I handed him this tool. Hardly anything impresses him but after he used it, he wanted to know where he could get some of his own. He was amazed how someone unskilled as I am could find such a great tool. I'm no longer useless to him. That in itself is more than worth the price I paid for it.

    Highly recommended.
